As I am sure many of you know, it’s been a
tough time for England over the last couple of months. We as a country have
seen things we never wanted too. Our children of the UK were targeted at Ariana
Grande's 'Dangerous Woman' concert at Manchester Arena. Sadly, we lost 22 lives, one little 8-year-old
child from our town. Then again in London, we faced further terrorist attacks
on London Bridge and Borough Market. This attack did not just affect the United Kingdom,
but citizens from all over the world lost their lives. After all, we are a multi-cultural
country where everyone is an individual. Where we welcome all to live
peacefully amongst us. Thank fully the majority are just that, peaceful and
kind.
The nature of our country shone through when we were stuck with further disaster, London faced the towering inferno of Grenfell
Tower which was truly heart-breaking and the death toll is still rising. The country is pulling together once again to support these victims. #onelove. These
incidents as I am sure you can all agree, have featured heavily across the
news, newspapers, internet and conversations from all walks of life.
These incidents have left many terrified,
including my 6-year-old son, Jack. Jack is the sweetest little boy I’ve ever
met, he is described as a ‘delight’ by his teachers at school. He simply cannot
understand why people would be so mean. He was too scared to go on his school
trip in case there was a bomb. He sadly missed out. Its impossible to shelter children from the large amount of media coverage these events have caused.
So, this is where you guys come
in, I’ve noticed we have readers from all over the world from the
America, UK, Germany, Ireland… we have even reached the Philippines and Egypt! What
I am asking of you all, is to take a photo of yourself where ever you are, it
does not matter how near or far, and send it over to #Jack @sixhandssixfeet and show him love. If you could hold up a message to
him quoting ‘Showing #Jack Love’ and
pop on it where about you are in the world, then he knows these
messages of kindness are for him and the world can be a great place. Ask your friends and family to join in!
That would be fantastic. Hopefully, I will be able to make him a slide show of
the results which we will share with you all!
Thank you so much to all of you. You
can all help make a difference.
Love Janine and Jack xx
