The Poop Factor!

Once you have experienced the joy of child birth, you will become so familiar with the sight of poop in the most random of circumstances. It starts pretty much immediately. When Jack was born, being my second born, I was aware what would come out of him at first, just maybe not so soon! The midwife put him onto my chest for skin to skin contact and straight away, the first thing he did was poop all over me. That lovely icky black tar poo that just seems to smear more and more when you try and wipe it off, it was such a lovely first experience. I would not recommend it as a moisturiser either, it leaves a sticky residue that just makes you want to repeatedly shower! The midwives hadn't even had chance to weigh Jack before he delighted me with such a gift, I'm sure he would have hit 8lbs if it wasn't for his excrement. He weighed in at 7lb 13.5ounzes. I had a very similar tar poop experience with Nathan. Nathan was the first baby I had ever handled. I really s

Do single mothers deserve the stick?

I am a single mother, I have been all my parenting life. Ten years of getting children up, feeding them, dressing them, loving them, being at their beck and call. Is it easy? No! Its exhausting…well it is if you constantly trying to fit everything into the day that they need. Homework, school runs, beavers, sports clubs, doctors/dentist/opticians and the various other health appointments, parent’s evenings and school stuff. After finding endless amounts of Bunchems stuck in the living room rug, I began mentally listing the irritating toys we have in our house, so I have compiled them into a list for you and see if you share the same pain. Jack picking toys at Toys R Us!   Here goes... 1.        Furby . Jack likes his furby, the feeling is not mutual. Furby is irritating when he is in a good mood, when he goes off on one, and is telling you to shut up and sarcastically repeating ‘Oh my God’ at me, he is going to get thrown out of the window. Jack still believes his batteries have gone. 2.        Lego !! Lego is great, its great for childs development and fine motor skills, especially as Jack has recently been diagnosed with DCD, so I tolerate the mess it causes. However, its not great when you are standing on pieces of it running to the loo in the middle of the night or jamming the hoover with that important piece that means the entire set is now non and void. 3.
